The global market is the middle of double dip recession and the world economy is crying out for help. The tough times are affecting companies and consumers alike with spending levels reaching some of the lowest in years. Consumers in today's economic climate do not have as much disposable income as they did in early 90's as the cost of living is on the increase with gas and electric bills increasing reaching record levels. Although the cost of living has gone up the average monthly wage has remained at the same level as companies have not been in a position to increase wages due to the lack of spending.
As well as not being able to increase employee's wages large companies have been forced to make job cuts and become more streamline to save costs. This has meant that from large organisations to small companies, many organisations are now operating using skeleton staff due to cheap imports and outsourcing overseas. Companies have started to look for new ways to encourage consumers to start spending and get across their marketing message to the consumer. The major companies have been looking to all forms of marketing to increase their market and profits. This can be looking at traditional forms of marketing like branding, packaging, adverts to the new media channels such as Search Engine Optimisation, social media, website design and PPC.
Companies that have started to use all forms of marketing to get their message across to the consumer have started an upturn in consumer and profit levels. This has been down to making sure that the company operates effectively and know what products are selling in the consumer. Even though that world spending is at one of it lost levels in years it shows that if companies use cutting edge marketing methods to get their message across to the customer are still succeeding. It seems that the toughest times are behind the global market and the strong companies have remained in the market. The companies that operate effectively and have a clear marketing message that is communicated through a number of different channels; these companies have a bright future as we start to come out of the recession.
In summary the strong companies have survived the recession and the future looks bright for 2012. Companies have already started to look at concepts for marketing campaigns that communicate the message to the consumer and ensure spending levels continue to increase in this ever changing market.
